Do you need to include contact information, and where?

Where to place it
Include a contact section at the very end of your press release, after all body text. Don't bury it in a footer or signature. Make it obvious that journalists can reach someone with questions.
What to include
List the name and title of a real person who can speak to the announcement. Include their phone number and email address. If the announcement involves multiple areas (like a merger), provide contacts for each relevant department. One contact is usually enough.
Keep it direct
Format it simply: Name, Title, Phone, Email. No complex signature lines or extra text. Journalists need to reach you quickly; they don't want to decode your contact information.
Availability matters
If you're sending a press release and won't be available for calls, mention that. Example: "John Smith will be available for interviews after 2 PM on [date]." This prevents journalists from trying to reach you when you can't respond.
Check before sending
Verify phone and email work. This sounds obvious, but missed opportunities happen when journalists can't actually reach the contact listed.
